Weigelia Tower of Flowers ‘Cherry’ is a compact, deciduous flowering shrub of narrowly upright habit, with ovate, medium-green leaves, bronze when they emerge. Large, funnel-shaped, cherry-red flowers bloom in clusters along the whole stem throughout spring and summer. Attractive to birds and bees. Weigelia Tower of Flowers ‘Cherry’ is a fast-growing, tough and reliable plant. It can adapt to a wide range of soil conditions, even clay and tough urban grounds, but prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun, but can grow well and bloom in partial shade. It is tolerant of frost, wind, exposure and mild drought. Doesn’t have any serious pest or disease problems. Low maintenance, doesn’t require regular pruning. Weigelia Tower of Flowers ‘Cherry’, with its unusual columnar habit and abundance of flowers, creates a beautiful display in any garden. Perfect for patio pots and containers. Excellent for beds and borders, shrub borders, banks and slopes and informal, low hedges.
