Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 45 years of experience, located in the heart of West Sussex, historic town of Arundel.

The site is set on 10 acres with massive ranges of hedging plants, ornamental and fruit trees, mature and specimen trees, and huge selection of shrubs of all sizes.

What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees, shrubs and plants in general. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).

British grown trees

80% of the trees and shrubs we sell are grown locally, the rest is grown on at the nursery

Open 7 days a week

Open to public and trade 7 days a week, Mon-Fri 8:00 - 17:00, Sat-Sun 9:00 - 16:00

Focus on growing

We aim to grow as much as possible ourselves, this allows to have highest quality plants at lower prices than typical purely retail garden centre

Our story

Arundel Arboretum tree nursery has been an established business for over 45 years. For the past 26 years, it has been an independently run business. Our tree nursery\garden center is on the outskirts of Arundel, West Sussex, nestled within the South Downs National Park. Our stock is always handpicked from our trusted suppliers and the quality is of the utmost importance.

Our suppliers have the same ethics as us for producing top quality plants and over the years, we have built up an excellent working relationship with them to ensure they know our criteria. We are continuing to source a lot of our stock from British nurseries too.

Our specialty lies in our dedicated and unwavering focus on trees and shrubs, setting us apart from a typical garden center. We offer thousands of trees across hundreds of varieties, supported by a team of knowledgeable experts who are always available to help you select the perfect plant for your needs.

We Take Pride in What We Do

Due to our passion and commitment to providing good quality stock and customer care, we have a solid customer base that primarily comes from recommendation. Many of our clients have been with us for many years.

Our tree nursery is very unique as we are not a purely commercially motivated business, hence we can afford to focus only on trees. So you will not find mountains of plastic swag, hot tubs, discounted power tools, dominating a lonely looking plant. Only trees and shrubs, lots of trees, big, medium and small.

Clean and Tidy

We have gone to extraordinary lengths to make Arundel Arboretum a pleasant place to spend time by keeping it tidy, clean, and well-organized. It requires a herculean effort, but it’s worth it—for both you as our customer and us as the ones who spend all our waking hours here. We take pride in this place and warmly encourage you to visit and experience the incredible variety of trees in all shapes and sizes, all in one location.
