Viburnum tinus ‘Lucidum’ is a vigorous, dense, round, evergreen shrub, with narrowly ovate, glossy, dark green leaves, and small, fragrant, creamy-white flowers growing in clusters and blooming from late winter into spring. Flowers are followed by glossy, dark blue berries. Attractive to birds, bees, and butterflies. Viburnum tinus ‘Lucidum’ can adapt to a wide range of soil conditions, but thrives in fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It can grow in full sun, partial shade, and even full shade. Once established, it is resistant to drought. It can withstand low temperatures, but needs to be sheltered from cold, drying winds. Frost may damage the flower buds. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require much pruning, but tolerates pruning very well. Viburnum tinus ‘Lucidum’ is a beautiful, winter-flowering evergreen shrub, perfect for shrub borders, informal hedges and screens, and foundation plantings. Excellent for bringing some brightness and colour into winter gardens or shady areas. Great as a specimen plant.
