Thuja occidentalis 'Tiny Tim' is a dwarf, dense, compact, coniferous, evergreen shrub of rounded habit with flat sprays of scale-like, medium green leaves, bronze-tinged in winter. It produces urn-shaped cones, reddish brown when they mature in autumn. Thuja occidentalis 'Tiny Tim' is an undemanding and very easy to grow. It can adapt to a wide range of soils and soil conditions, except waterlogged and too dry. It prefers average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade. Even though it likes sunny areas, it also appreciates some afternoon shade in hot summer climates. It can withstand frost, but needs to be protected from drying, winter winds. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. ‘Tiny Tim’ is slow-growing, finely-branched shrub that keeps its lovely shape without pruning. Exceptional in rock and gravel gardens. Perfect as a dwarf specimen or accent plant, as well as planted in groups. Great for beds and borders. Excellent for growing in pots and containers.
