Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' is a dense, vigorous, evergreen, flowering shrub of upright to spreading habit, with ovate, dark green leaves, and beautiful, funnel-shaped, pure white flowers opening from mauve buds in late spring. Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' thrives in acidic, organically rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils in partial shade. Its roots are shallow and poor drainage may lead to a root rot. It loves morning sun, but needs some shade in the afternoon. It is tolerant of frost and air pollution. It prefers cool climates and needs to be sheltered from strong winds. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require much pruning. Susceptible to many insect and disease problems. Rhododendron 'Cunningham's White' is a versatile landscape shrub, perfect as a specimen or accent plant in informal, cottage, woodland, and urban gardens. Excellent as a foundation plant and planted in groups. Great for beds and borders, informal hedges, banks and slopes, wall-sides and trellises. Suitable for shady corners of a garden.
