Prunus ‘Shirotae’ is a small, ornamental, flat-topped, flowering cherry tree with horizontally spreading and slightly arching branches covered with dark green leaves, bronze when emerging, vivid orange and red in autumn. Mildly fragrant, semi-double, snowy white flowers bloom in April and May along with young light green foliage. Prunus ‘Shirotae’ grows best in moderately fertile, deep, loamy, moist, well-drained soils, but can adapt to various types of soil, except too wet and waterlogged. It thrives in full sun, but is tolerant of light shade. Very resistant to frost but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Flower buds may be damaged by late frosts. Tolerant of air pollution, therefore, suitable for growing in cities. Low maintenance-plant, doesn’t require much pruning. Cherry 'Shirotae' is an impressive ornamental tree with excellent autumn foliage and lovely white blossoms. Perfect as a specimen plant or planted in groups. Great for cottage, urban, Japanese-style gardens. Excellent for urban areas - avenues, streets, and parks.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
