Prunus nipponica 'Ruby' is a beautiful, ornamental, deciduous, cherry tree with ovate, toothed, emerald green leaves, rusty-bronze in spring, attractive golden yellow, fiery orange and red in autumn which are unusual autumn colours for cherry trees. Masses of stunning, single, soft pink flowers bloom in April and May. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Prunus nipponica 'Ruby' can grow in most soil types, except too wet and waterlogged. It prefers moderately fertile, well-drained soils in full sun. Resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered form harsh winter winds. Late frosts may damage the flower buds. Still, one of the hardiest ornamental cherries available. It can withstand urban pollution. May require some pruning in spring. Japanese Alpine Cherry ‘Ruby’ is a tough and very attractive ornamental cherry, perfect for small cottage, wildlife or urban gardens. Great as a specimen plant, for beds and borders, or wall-side borders. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
