Pittosporum 'Garnettii' is a bushy, evergreen shrub with erect branches, simple, leathery, oval, glossy, grey-green leaves with irregular, silvery margins, tinted pink in winter. Clusters of small, fragrant, dark-purple flowers on black stems bloom in spring and summer. Round, woody fruits open in autumn and reveal seeds in a sticky pulp. Pittosporum 'Garnettii' is adaptable to a wide range of soils, but prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. It can withstand some cold, but needs to be sheltered from cold, drying, winds. It is tolerant of drought, salt, therefore, suitable for coastal areas. Generally, disease-free. Low maintenance plant. Pittosporum 'Garnettii' is a dense, ornamental, luminous silvery shrub that glows in the landscape and looks beautiful in cottage, urban, or coastal gardens, especially in winter. It is excellent for hedges and screens. Great for shrub borders, wall-side borders, and suitable for growing in containers.
