Photinia x fraseri ‘Little Red Robin’ is a small, compact, erect, evergreen shrub with leathery, elliptic, glossy, dark green leaves, bright red when young. Panicles of inconspicuous, small, creamy-white flowers bloom in spring and are sometimes followed by red berries. Spring pruning eliminates flowers and stimulates new red growth. A smaller and more compact version of Photinia ‘Red Robbin’. Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' grows best in average, fertile, slightly acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils, but is adaptable to a wide range of soils, except waterlogged and compact. Once established, it is resistant of frost and drought. Young leaves may be damaged by late frosts, therefore it should be sheltered, especially from harsh winds. Low maintenance plant, tolerant of hard pruning. Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is a lovely, colourful shrub, great as a small specimen or accent plant, perfect for smaller borders and informal low hedges. Suitable for growing in pots and containers.
