Magnolia Burgundy Star is a tall, slender, deciduous shrub or small tree of narrowly upright, columnar habit, unusual for magnolias, with ovate, dark green leaves. The extravagant, lightly fragrant, tulip-like, claret red fading to lighter shades, flowers bloom in early spring, before the leaves emerge. Magnolia Burgundy Star is an undemanding plant. It can grow in a wide range of soils, but prefers light, fertile, slightly acidic, consistently moist, and well-drained soils. Once established, it can withstand drought. It thrives in full sun, but tolerates partial shade. It is resistant to frost and can withstand very low temperatures, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Because of its shallow roots, it doesn’t like transplanting. Low maintenance, doesn’t require pruning. Magnolia Burgundy Star is a spectacular ornamental tree, perfect as a specimen plant. Great for smaller cottage and urban gardens. Excellent when planted in groups, especially in a row to create informal hedges and screens.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
