Magnolia Black Tulip is a medium-sized, vigorous, upright, slender, deciduous shrub or small tree with dark green leaves, and exquisite, fragrant, large, tulip-shaped, deep burgundy or deep purple flowers that bloom on bare branches in early spring before the leaves emerge providing a spectacular display. It is attractive to birds and butterflies. Magnolia Black Tulip is adaptable to a wide range of soils, as long as they are well-drained, but prefers rich, fertile, slightly acidic, moist and well-drained soils, in full sun to partial shade. It needs to be protected from harsh and dry winds. Early frost may damage the flower buds. Low maintenance plant. Magnolia Black Tulip is a cross between Magnolia ‘Vulcan’ and Magnolia ’Iolanthe’. It is stunning as a specimen plant, excellent for cottage, urban, and traditional gardens. Great in beds and borders and as an informal hedge. It is suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
