Leucothoe keiskei ‘Burning Love’ is a small, low-growing, mound-forming, evergreen shrub with dense and compact habit, slightly arching branches, and beautiful colourful foliage all year round. Its slender, ovate, pointed, glossy, leathery leaves emerge bronze red in spring, turn dark green in summer, and deep burgundy in autumn. Small, white, bell-shaped flowers bloom in spring. Leucothoe keiskei ‘Burning Love’ requires light, hummus-rich, acidic, constantly moist, well-drained soils. It prefers filtered sun to partial shade, but can also grow in full sun if provided with enough moisture. It is resistant to frost and very low temperatures, therefore suitable for outdoor pots. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Dog Hobble ‘Burning Love’ is a very attractive, ornamental shrub, suitable for woodland, cottage, and rock gardens. Perfect when planted in masses, for flower beds, shady mixed borders, garden edging, or as a groundcover. Excellent for low hedges and screens and for growing in pots and containers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
