Juniperus x media 'Old Gold' is a small, compact, low-growing, coniferous, decorative, evergreen shrub with elegant, ascending branches and soft, thin, lacy, scale-like, golden-yellow and deep bronze leaves, with bright yellow tips when young. Male cones are large and brown, while female are blue, flashy, and berry-like. Juniperus x media 'Old Gold' is easily grown in a wide range of soils, except waterlogged, but prefers average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It thrives in hot, sunny areas, but is tolerant of partial shade. Once established, resistant to drought. It can withstand frost and exposed positions. Tolerant of sea salt and coastal conditions.
