Large, trumpet-shaped, pastel violet-blue, single flowers with dark red throats bloom abundantly in summer and autumn. Hibiscus syriacus 'Oiseau Bleu' prefers, fertile, slightly alkaline, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun and needs long, hot summers to flower well. Once established, resistant to drought. Very resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Tolerant of heat, humidity, salt and coastal conditions. It can withstand urban pollution. No serious pest or disease problems. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require much pruning.
