Hebe 'Magic Summer' is a dwarf, compact, bushy, evergreen shrub with variegated, lance-shaped, grey-green leaves and creamy-white margins. New shots emerge with reddish-purple flush. The spikes of tiny, lavender-blue flowers bloom from summer to autumn and are attractive to bees and butterflies. Hebe 'Magic Summer' is very easy to grow. It prefers poor to moderately fertile, slightly alkaline to neutral, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. It can withstand frost but needs to be sheltered from harsh, drying winter winds. Tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions. No serious pest or disease problems. Low maintenance plant, requires minimal pruning. Hebe 'Magic Summer' is a tough, adaptable shrub great for informal, cottage, urban, and coastal gardens. Excellent for beds and borders, under-planting of shrubs and roses, or as a groundcover. Good for low hedges and rock and gravel gardens. Suitable for growing in pots and containers.
