Ficus carica, or Common Fig, is a large, spreading, fast-growing, deciduous shrub or small tree with a nice, smooth, silvery bark and huge, decorative, hand-shaped, lobed, green leaves, yellow in autumn. Small, inconspicuous flowers form inside the fruit and are followed by edible, very sweet and tasty figs, drop-shaped, green and purple, ripe in late summer. Ficus carica prefers, rich, slightly acidic or neutral, moist and well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun and partial shade. It grows very quickly and is generally disease-free. Low maintenance plant, very easy to grow. It is cold, heat, and drought tolerant and seedlings may even grow from stonewalls. It needs to be protected from winds. A Mediterranean climate plant. Ficus carica (Fig), with its attractive foliage and delicious fruit, is a great addition to any garden – informal, cottage and urban. Perfect to grow against a south wall. Warm and sunny location is necessary for a fig to bear fruit.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
