Cornus Samaritan is a vigorous, deciduous, very ornamental shrub or small tree with silvery brown exfoliating bark and attractive variegated leaves, luscious green with creamy-white margins, that turn pink and red in autumn. Clusters of small greenish flowers are surrounded by large, at first green, then pure white, bracts, creating a stunning display in late spring or early summer. Flowers are followed by edible, strawberry-like, hanging fruits. Cornus Samaritan prefers fertile, neutral to slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soils, in full sun or light shade. In alkaline soils, it is susceptible to chlorosis and it doesn’t tolerate standing water. Very resilient, generally, pest-free and disease-free. It doesn’t require pruning. It can withstand frost and air pollution. Cornus Samaritan is a beautiful ornamental tree with several attractive features. Great for informal, urban, and cottage gardens. Perfect as a specimen plant or for shrub borders, hedges, and screens.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
