The Cornus kousa 'Milky Way' is a visually striking large shrub, reaching an impressive height of approximately 160cm. This deciduous variety of dogwood is celebrated for its dense and prolific floral display, which truly sets it apart. In late spring to early summer, it bursts into a galaxy of star-like flowers. These flowers are initially green, gradually turning to a brilliant white, creating a stunning contrast against the dark green foliage. As the seasons change, the leaves transition to vibrant shades of red and purple, adding a dramatic flair to any garden landscape.
In addition to its floral beauty, 'Milky Way' produces edible, berry-like fruits by late summer, which are a delightful mix of pink and red hues. These fruits are not only ornamental but also attract various birds and wildlife, adding an element of natural dynamism to your garden.
This variety is known for its hardiness and adaptability, thriving in a range of soil types and conditions, though it prefers well-drained, fertile soil and a position in full sun to partial shade. The Cornus kousa 'Milky Way' is an excellent choice for those seeking a spectacular focal point in their garden, promising year-round interest and a touch of celestial charm.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.
About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
