Ceanothus Blue Sensation is a large, vigorous, fast-growing, upright, evergreen shrub with elegant arching branches and small, glossy, green leaves. In spring and early summer, it bears fluffy clusters of stunning pale blue to dark blue flowers, which are rare in ornamental gardens, covering almost the whole plant. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Ceanothus Blue Sensation prefers average, slightly alkaline, moist but well-drained soils, in full sun. It is tolerant to salt, poor, shallow, rocky and sandy soils. It naturally grows in coastal areas, near the streams, on wooded slopes and canyons. Once established, it is drought tolerant. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. It doesn’t like to be moved or hard pruned. Ceanothus Blue Sensation is a beautiful and resilient shrub. It will add superb beauty to any garden. It is perfect for coastal, urban, and cottage gardens. Great for wall-side borders, banks and slopes, hedges and screens.
