Azalea Japonica ‘Luzi’ is an upright, bushy, compact, evergreen shrub with leathery, narrowly elliptic, glossy, medium-green leaves and clusters of attractive, fragrant, star-shaped, pure white flowers blooming abundantly in May and June. Attractive to birds and butterflies. Azalea Japonica ‘Luzi’ thrives in fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, loamy or sandy soils. It has shallow roots and the soil needs to be moist but well-drained because poor drainage may lead to a root rot. It likes partial shade because full sun may cause the leaf scorch. It is resistant to frost but needs to be sheltered from harsh, winter winds. Late spring frosts may damage the flower buds. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. White Japanese Azalea ‘Luzi’ is a beautiful, floriferous evergreen shrub, very easy to maintain. It is perfect for banks and lopes, shrub borders and mixed borders, low informal hedges and screens, and foundational plantings. Great for informal, cottage, and wildlife gardens. Suitable for growing in containers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
