Flowers are followed by large, round, green, juicy, firm and crisp apples with acidic flavour, harvested in October and November. If sorted well, they can last for 6 months. Malus Domestica 'Granny Smith' prefers moderately fertile, deep, loamy moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun. It can withstand some frost but for good and regular crop, it needs warmth and isn’t suitable for colder climates. It is self-fertile but needs another variety blooming at the same time nearby for better crops. One of the best pollinators for other varieties. Requires some pruning and thinning.
