Tamarix tetrandra, commonly known as four-stamen tamarisk, is a small deciduous shrub or tree that is native to arid and semi-arid regions of China and Mongolia. It is a member of the Tamaricaceae family, which is comprised of approximately 50 species of woody plants that are adapted to grow in harsh environments. Tamarix tetrandra typically grows up to 6 meters in height and has a slender, upright habit. Its branches are slender and flexible, and are covered in small, scale-like leaves. The plant produces small, pink to lavender flowers that appear in dense clusters along the stems in late spring and early summer. The flowers are followed by small, capsule-like fruits that contain numerous small seeds.
