Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame' is a compact, mounded-to-spreading, deciduous shrub with ovate, toothed leaves, bronze-red in spring, yellow-green in summer, orange, red, and yellow in autumn. Flat-topped clusters of tiny, pink flowers bloom in late spring to early summer and are attractive to butterflies. Japanese spiraea 'Goldflame' grows best in average, fertile, loamy, medium moisture, well-drained soils, but can grow in a wide range of soil conditions. It thrives in full sun but is tolerant of light shade. Resistant to heat. Virtually, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require regular pruning. Easy to grow. Spiraea japonica 'Goldflame' is an amazing shrub with constantly changing colour of its foliage. It creates a wonderful display in cottage, urban, coastal, and rock gardens. It is perfect when planted in groups or masses in shrub borders. Great as a foundation plant or as a low hedge along the pathways. Excellent for growing in containers.
