Osmanthus heterophyllus ‘Tricolor’ is a slow-growing, compact, rounded, evergreen shrub or small tree with oval, thorny, leathery, holly-like leaves, orange-pink when young, bright green splashed with creamy yellow when mature. Clusters of small, fragrant, tubular, white flowers bloom in late summer, often persisting into the autumn and are followed by small, dark fruits. Osmanthus heterophyllus ‘Tricolor’ can tolerate a wide range of soils, even clay and sandy, put prefers fertile, slightly acidic, moist and well-drained soils. It grows well in full sun, partial shade, and even full shade. Once established, it is resistant to drought. It can withstand frost and low temperatures. Generally, pest-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning, but it tolerates it very well. Holly Olive 'Goshiki' is a wonderful, tough, and long-lived plant suitable for informal, cottage, coastal, and urban gardens. Perfect for hedges and screens. Excellent for banks and slopes. Very good looking as a specimen shrub or small tree. Great for growing in containers.
