Carex morrowii 'Evergold' is an attractive, dense, ornamental grass. It grows in low, mounded clumps. Its narrow, arching green leaves have creamy-yellow central stripe. Inconspicuous brown flowers emerge in spring. Carex morrowii 'Evergold' can grow in any type of soil, as long as it is moist and well-drained, in full sun or partial shade. Leaf colour is better in partial shade. It doesn’t like hot and humid summer climates. It can tolerate periods of dryness better than other sedge varieties. It generally doesn’t have any serious problems with pests and diseases. Low maintenance plant. Carex morrowii 'Evergold' can be planted in groups as a ground cover, in beds and borders in shade areas, as well as in woodland gardens. It can be a great accent plant in a small garden. Since it likes moist soils, it can be easily grown near ponds and streams.
