Malus Domestica 'Reine des Reinettes' is a vigorous, upright, deciduous tree with oval, dark green leaves and small, decorative, pinkish-white flowers blooming the whole month of April and even later. Flowers are followed by medium-sized, orange and red flushed, yellow apples with juicy, delicious, and very sweet, yet slightly acidic, fresh-tasting, flesh. Harvested from September to October. It can be stored until Christmas, after that, it loses its eating quality. Malus Domestica 'Reine des Reinettes' prefers moderately fertile, deep, loamy, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun. It is very resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Suitable for colder climates with higher rainfall. Pruning and fruit thinning are required. It is partially self-fertile. It needs a pollinator blooming at the same time nearby for better crops. Pollination group 5. Apple 'Reine des Reinettes' is a beautiful, long-blooming apple tree grown for its heavy and regular crops of apples, excellent for cooking or eating fresh.
