Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead' is a compact, extremely fragrant, evergreen shrub with aromatic, slender, grey-green leaves and spikes of lovely, scented, small, tubular, blue-purple flowers. It’s a small cultivar, popular for its beautiful, long-lasting scent. It blooms twice, from late spring throughout the summer. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead' thrives in neutral to alkaline, dry to medium moist, poor, light, sandy, well-drained soils. It prefers full sun, and doesn’t like waterlogged soils, therefore, excellent drainage is essential. Perfect for dry climates.
