Camellia japonica 'Snow White' is a vigorous, upright, evergreen shrub with ovate, glossy, dark green leaves and beautiful, medium-sized, pure white flowers blooming in late winter and spring. Its lovely, white blossoms in contrast to deep green foliage look exceptionally good in a bare winter garden. Camellia Snow White thrives in fertile, rich, slightly acidic soil, moist and well-drained. It prefers partial shade and its young foliage and flowers need to be protected from too much sun and hard winds. It is slow to establish and slow to grow but once established it can live very long. It doesn’t like temperature changes, irregular watering, or to be moved. It’s susceptible to a number of fungal diseases. Camellia japonica 'Snow White' is a stunning shrub great for cottage and urban gardens, for beds and borders, backgrounds, and informal hedges. Suitable for growing in containers. Grows very well in conservatories.
