Hydrangea 'Mirranda' is a vigorous, deciduous, self-clinging climber with aerial rootlets along the stems, which have peeling, reddish-brown bark as the plant matures, and leathery, heart-shaped, toothed, glossy, green leaves with irregular white to creamy margins. Large, white flowers appear in early summer. Flowerheads are flat-topped, with larger white flowers surrounding tiny ones in the centre. Hydrangea 'Mirranda' prefers humus-rich, moist, but well-drained soils and thrives in warm, sheltered areas. It is adaptable to full sun, partial shade and full shade, as well as various types of soil as long as they are well-drained. It is generally pest-free and disease-free. Very easy to grow, low maintenance plant. Toxic to dogs, cats, and horses. This variegated hydrangea with lovely white flowers looks stunning when grown against dark backgrounds, especially against shaded north-facing walls. Perfect for covering brick and stucco walls, fences, and arbours. It can be used as groundcover as well.
