Cistus × pulverulentus 'Sunset' is a small, compact, vigorous, low-spreading, evergreen shrub with wavy-margined, grey-green leaves and masses of papery, yellow-centred, magenta flowers blooming abundantly throughout the summer. Each flower last only for one day. Cistus × pulverulentus 'Sunset' can grow well in almost any type of soil, even poor, dry, and chalky, as long as it is well-drained and in sunny, sheltered position. It is resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh, winter winds. In very cold areas it may die and late frosts may damage the flowers buds, Very resistant to drought and sea salt, suitable for coastal conditions. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Rock Rose 'Sunset' is a tough, small shrub great for dry banks and slopes, beds and borders, and wall-side borders. Excellent as a groundcover. Perfect for Mediterranean-style, coastal, and rock gardens. Very good for cottage and urban gardens.
