Cistus × hybridus corbariensis is a low-growing, dense, bushy, mound-forming, evergreen shrub with ovate, wavy-edged, wrinkled, dark green leaves, light green beneath, and lovely, pure white flowers with yellow centres emerging from red buds in summer. Cistus × hybridus corbariensis grows best in poor, sandy, well-drained soils, but can adapt to a wide range of soil types. It is tolerant of lime, but may suffer from chlorosis on very chalky soils. It thrives in full sun to light shade. Once established, tolerant of drought and coastal conditions. It’s a Mediterranean climate plant and the hardiest of all rock roses. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. This Hybrid Rock Rose is a cross between C. salviifolius and C. populifolius. It’s a lovely shrub, perfect for flower beds, mixed and shrub borders, as well as banks and slopes. Great as a groundcover, beautiful in rock and gravel gardens, excellent for any informal, cottage, urban, and coastal garden.
