Prunus ‘Jacqueline’ is a small, rounded, ornamental, deciduous cherry tree of upright habit, with oval, toothed, deep green leaves with superb autumn colours – bright orange and red. The profusion of stunning, large, single, cup-shaped, light pink flowers bloom in early spring, on bare branches, before the leaves emerge. Fruits are small and inconspicuous. Prunus ‘Jacqueline’ can grow in a wide range of soils, but prefers fertile, nutrient-rich, moist, well-drained soils in full sun or dappled shade. It is resistant to cold and can withstand very low temperatures, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Late frost may damage the flower buds. Young plant needs to be pruned to form a pleasing shape. Flowering Cherry ‘Jacqueline’ is a wonderful flowering tree, perfect as a specimen plant or planted in groups in informal and cottage gardens. Great for informal hedges or screens. Excellent for planting in public areas. Suitable for growing in containers.
