Wisteria is a stunning and vigorous climbing shrub known for its lavish cascades of fragrant flowers. In this specific instance, we're envisioning a purple-flowering variety of Wisteria, elegantly trained as an espalier on a metal frame. The frame stands 110 cm in height and 50 cm in width, making it a compact, yet striking garden feature.
The Wisteria's long, graceful racemes of pure purple flowers drape elegantly down from the horizontal lines of the metal framework. This espalier training method involves carefully pruning and tying the branches to the frame, encouraging the plant to grow in a flat, two-dimensional form. This not only maximizes the floral display in a limited space but also creates a living art piece.
The blossoms emit a sweet, subtle fragrance, adding a sensory delight to its visual charm. The leaves, a vibrant green, are neatly arranged along the stems, providing a lush backdrop to the purple flowers. The overall appearance is both orderly and natural, showcasing the beauty of the Wisteria while maintaining a structured form that complements formal and informal garden designs alike.
This espaliered Wisteria is an embodiment of gardening skill and natural beauty, merging horticultural artistry with the elegant, wild grace of one of nature's most enchanting climbers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.
About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
