Vaccinium corymbosum 'Pink Berry' is a cross between rabbiteye blueberry whose immature fruit is pink, and usual highbush blueberry with blue fruit. It’s an upright, bushy shrub with narrow, elliptic, medium green leaves, orange and red in autumn. Bell-shaped, white to pink flowers bloom in spring and are followed by the abundance of pink berries, very sweet, juicy and without typical blueberry acidity, ready for harvesting in late summer. Vaccinium corymbosum 'Pink Berry' prefers fertile, organically-rich, acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun. Resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winter winds. It is self-fertile, but the best crop is achieved when another pink berry or rabbit berry is planted nearby. No serious disease and pest problems. Mature plants require regular pruning. Vaccinium corymbosum 'Pink Berry' is a new variety, attractive because of its pink berries. Grown mostly for its fruit, it can be a nice addition to cottage, urban, or coastal gardens.
