Thuja orientalis 'Pyramidalis Aurea' is a compact, neat evergreen coniferous tree of pyramidal habit, with dense, flattened sprays of scale-like, fresh-green to golden-yellow foliage, bronze-tinged in winter, and oval, female cones in autumn. Golden Pyramidal Thuja can adapt to a wide range of soil conditions, but thrives in fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. It hot summers, it appreciates some afternoon shade. It should not be overcrowded because it likes good air circulation. It is resistant to frost and can withstand very low temperatures. It doesn’t have major pest or disease problems. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning but is tolerant of it. Thuja orientalis 'Pyramidalis Aurea' is an attractive, slow-growing, ornamental tree with striking golden foliage that requires almost no maintenance. It is perfect for hedges and screens. Great as a specimen or accent plant or for shrub borders and wall-side borders. Suitable for growing in containers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
