Skimmia japonica 'Finchy' is an upright, bushy, evergreen shrub with elliptic, glossy, dark green leaves and clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped, creamy-white flowers blooming in spring from small, green flower buds. It’s a male variety that doesn’t bear fruit. Female skimmias require a male plant nearby to produce berries. Skimmia japonica 'Finchy' grows best in moderately fertile, chalky or loamy, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in partial shade to full shade. In full sun, its leaves may yellow and scorch. It is resistant to frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winter winds. Tolerant of urban pollution. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Skimmia 'Finchy', with its lovely white flowers and lush foliage, is a perfect shrub for shady corners of informal, cottage, wildlife or urban gardens. Excellent for shrub borders, foundation plantings, and banks and slopes. Great for informal hedges and screens. Suitable for growing in containers.

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
