Rosa Rugosa, commonly known as rugosa rose or beach rose, is a hardy and resilient plant species native to Asia, but now commonly found throughout the world. The plant has a unique, pleasant fragrance and is famous for its large, showy, bright pink, red or white blooms which appear from late spring to early summer. The plant can grow up to six feet tall and six feet wide, with glossy green foliage that turns a beautiful reddish-purple color in the fall.
Rosa Rugosa prefers full sun to partial shade and can grow in a variety of soil types, including sandy, loamy, and clay soils. The plant is highly tolerant of salt spray and is often used in coastal landscaping to help stabilize dunes and prevent beach erosion.
Rosa Rugosa is a popular plant for gardeners and landscapers due to its ease of care and low maintenance requirements. The plant is highly resistant to pests and diseases and can withstand cold temperatures, making it suitable for a wide range of climates. The plant is also drought tolerant and requires little watering once established.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.
About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
