Potentilla fruticosa 'Primrose Beauty' is a small, bushy, deciduous shrub with pinnate, grey green leaves with pale primrose-yellow flowers with darker yellow centres blooming from late spring to the first frosts. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Potentilla fruticosa 'Primrose Beauty' is tolerant of most soil conditions, loamy, chalky, sandy, even poor ones, but prefers average, moist, well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade. The best flowering occurs in full sun. Very tough and resilient plant. Resistant to frost, wind, and exposed positions. Once established, tolerant of drought. Adaptable to sea salt, coastal conditions and urban pollution. Virtually pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Shrubby cinquefoil 'Primrose Beauty' is a wonderful, tough plant, ideal for coastal gardens. Great for urban, cottage, rock, and gravel gardens. Perfect for beds and borders, banks and slopes, and foundation plantings. Suitable for growing in containers on patios and roof gardens.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
