Pieris japonica 'Passion' is a distinctive ornamental shrub, renowned for its vibrant and unique attributes. This variety of Pieris, often called Japanese Andromeda, features glossy, deep green leaves that create a lush backdrop for its striking floral display. In early spring, 'Passion' unveils clusters of bell-shaped flowers, ranging in color from deep pink to red, which hang elegantly in pendulous racemes. These blossoms are not only visually appealing but also emit a subtle, sweet fragrance, attracting various pollinators. The plant exhibits a compact, bushy growth habit, making it an ideal choice for small gardens, borders, or as a standalone specimen. It thrives in acidic, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade, although it can tolerate some sun. 'Passion' is also notable for its resistance to pests and diseases, making it a low-maintenance yet striking addition to any garden.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.
About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
