Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky' is a clump-forming, deciduous, perennial grass with upright habit and flat, narrow, glaucous, blue-green leaves, turning golden-yellow and orange in autumn. Masses of hazy, blue-green flowers bloom in autumn, hovering over foliage like an airy cloud. Seed plumes persist well into winter. Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky' tolerates most soil types, even dry, but prefers average, medium moisture, well-drained, sandy or clay, soils. It thrives in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Once established, resistant to drought. Somewhat tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Switch Grass 'Prairie Sky' is a wonderful, architectural grass from the prairies of North America. Perfect as an accent plant or when planted in masses. It is very adaptable and suitable for cottage, urban, coastal, and wildlife gardens. Great for rock and gravel gardens. Excellent for flower beds and borders, shrub and wall-side borders, and for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
