Arundel Arboretum has been an established business for over 40 years. For the past 20 years, it has been an independent, family run business. Our garden centre is nestled within the South Downs National Park, just on the outskirts of Arundel, West Sussex.

The majority of our client base comes from recommendation, which we believe is due to the excellent quality of our stock, and the extensive knowledge and passion of our staff. We also have a solid, returning customer base.

The quality of our stock is of paramount importance – without that, we would not have a business! It is vital to us that all our stock is of the utmost quality and we only use suppliers that have the same ethics as ourselves. All of our stock’s history is fully traceable, which is so important so that we can be sure of the health of every item that is in our nursery.

We specialise in evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs. We also have a range of conifers, together with an impressive collection of Japanese maples and Olive trees.

A visit to Arundel Arboretum garden centre will be quite unique! We pride ourselves on providing all our customers with a one-to-one service and will help and advise to the best of our ability. All of our staff are very knowledgeable about the stock we carry and will always ensure that every customer who visits us walks away with the right plant for their conditions, including tips on aftercare.

We believe that plants have an important environmental part to play. Planting trees helps to reduce pollution. Edible plants, such as fruit trees, will not only give you the pleasure of growing the tree but you can reap the rewards of the fruit too!

We are very passionate about working with nature. Over the years we’ve put up nest boxes, which has been very successful. The nesting birds have a haven for wildlife to eat, which has meant that we never have to spray our stock against greenfly, blackfly and other such insects. It is very satisfying to see again this year many species of birds raising their young. We often have birds nesting in our stock, and we will not sell that item until all the birds have fledged.

Our blog Are your fruit trees being sabotaged by insects? will give you more information.

We may be a little different to the average garden centre, but we look forward to welcoming you to Arundel Arboretum. Our friendly staff will be very happy to advise you on plants for your garden.
