Hedging is proving popular this season

June 26, 2015 by Gwenda

With the summer months in full swing it proves to be a very busy time of year here at Arundel Arboretum. Hedging seems to be on a lot of customers’ minds, perhaps because it makes an ideal screen but also because it can break up a garden creating interest and variety, not to mention the wildlife that hedging can attract.

Being one of the largest specialist hedging garden centres in Sussex we stock a broad range, with popular varieties including: Laurel, Photinia Red Robin, Pittosporum Elizabeth, Myrtle (Myrtus communis), Griselinia littoralis, Taxus Baccata (yew), Elaeagnus ebbengii, Portuguese laurels and many more.

We are pleased to offer a planting service and you can refer to our handy planting guide for further information. If you are looking to buy quality hedging, shrubs and trees (including mature varieties) from quality garden centres in Sussex please do pay us a visit and we will be able to advise you on the correct variety for your situation and soil type.

On another note we have had to be so careful as our resident wild birds like to nest in our stock, as we do supply the more developed, mature range.  If we find nests in saleable stock, we will not let the stock leave the nursery until the chicks have fledged.  I am so pleased to say this is always so successful.
